Rémi Metsu

Rémi Metsu is a precision stylist with a fierce loyal following. Known for expertly matching his vision to his clients’ look and personal style has earned him a devoted clientele that has remained with him for years.
Born in France, and trained in Paris, Remi managed salons ranging in size from 6 chairs to 60. A growing list of American clientele lured him to the U.S., working in exclusive salons throughout the Washington D.C. area, until he opened his own shop in 2006.
His exemplary work has been featured in Allure magazine, which named him top stylist in Washington. He has also been featured in Washingtonian magazine and The Washington Post. Rémi’s national recognition, combined with his reputation as an exemplary stylist, have resulted in styling requests from notable members of Washington political society and Hollywood celebrities, including Hillary Clinton and Natalie Portman.

Jeremy Buchanan

Jeremy Buchanan’s reputation and passion as a colorist have garnered him national accolades and a following with a near-perfect retention rate. His name is widely circulated by clients who believe him to be their best-kept beauty secret. Jeremy is particularly known for his corrective hair-color techniques, turning ruined and damaged color into impeccable, head-turning shades of blonde, brunette and red.
Through his early work as the founder of a regional hair academy, Jeremy found his calling: discovering, mentoring and teaching up-and-coming stylists. Within his first year as a colorist in Washington, Jeremy had become the color and educational manager in one of DC’s premier salons, overseeing all coloring consultations and formulations.
Jeremy has been a featured colorist in Harper’s Bazaar and in television shows including FOX Makeover Ambush on Fox and A Makeover Story on TLC. He has also colored the tresses of many members of Washington’s political community and national celebrities. |

Fred Hawck

Fred Hawck’s styles perfectly balance creative expression, technical detail, and up-to-the-second educational training. His philosophy, one which tailors each cut to work with lifestyle, personality and styling ability, allow his loyal following to look as good at home as the day they leave the salon.
Fred studied theatre and dance in college, and channeled his love of theatre into a stylist position at Arena Stage and other regional theatre productions. A Portfolio Artist for L’Oreal Professionnel U.S., his training includes intense study in texture and wet to dry cutting, which brings out the hair’s natural movement.
Known throughout Washington as the Curly-Tressed woman’s go-to expert, Fred has a massive fan base gained almost exclusively through word-of-mouth referrals. Fred's editorial recognition includes Allure magazine, Washingtonian magazine, and his work has been featured on the cover of DC magazine. He has styled celebrities including Julia Ormond, Kate Walsh, and Cyndi Lauper, and most recently was on the styling team for the runway looks for J. Mendel and Elena Cassis for Spring 2011 New York Fashion Week.

Derrick Lachney

“Runway hair” is the passion of Derrick Lachney. Derrick comes from Nashville, Tennessee, where he was the city’s most in-demand colorist for editorial and television shoots. Derrick has been responsible tending to famous manes ranging from Naomi Judd to Kelly Pickler, Alison Krauss and Hilary Scott at every major Nashville Music event from the CMAs to the CMTs. A welcome addition to the one80 team in the summer of 2009, Derrick quickly gained a following among Washington’s socialites, artists, and politicos alike. Derrick specializes in highlights that pack a serious punch and loves giving seasonal color makeovers. |

Cynthia Santana

Cynthia is a New Orleans native who began transforming clients through color in 1999. Her meticulous attention to detail and degree in sociology make her a colorist who can listen to what her clients want and implement it flawlessly, whether a multi-dimensional blonde, a bold red or a luxuriously rich brunette. She loves working with curly hair, whether to accentuate with color or give a great blowout. Her one common goal is to maintain the integrity of her clients' hair, as no matter the color, a healthy head of hair always looks spectacular. She works with relaxers for all types of hair textures, is certified in Great Length hair extensions and has been a technique educator for Wella and Bumble & Bumble. |

Jordan Pringle

A nomad by nature, stylist Jordan Pringle is inspired by the mixture of cultures and styles of places she’s called home; from SoCal’s blonde surfers to the rock’n’roll scene of New York City, from the student ex-pat culture of Madrid to the timeless beauty of coastal New England. A gifted musician, painter and make-up artist, Jordan trained at the Graham Webb Academy, the L’Oreal SoHo Academy, and Vidal Sassoon of Toronto. Jordan, whose work has been featured in Elle magazine, has cemented her reputation as one of Washington’s up-and-coming stylists under the tutelage of Remi Metsu. Jordan prides herself on creating cuts that are anything but ordinary, and specializes in blowouts that give body even to the limpest of tresses and can zap away even the unruliest strands of frizz.

Amy Putens
London style calling

Stylist Amy Putens honed her editorial styling career in London, where she styled shoots for clients ranging from Tom Ford to the BBC television hit How To Look Good Naked (the answer is to have great hair!) She trained with the Graham Webb Institute and was educated in Bumble + Bumble. Amy is “fluent” in Davines, and can always recommend the perfect product combo necessary to finish off a cut or style. A mainstay in the DC DJ scene, Amy pulls inspiration from the dance-floor fashions of Washington’s nightlife style setters. A stylist who could write a book on her own baby fine hair, Amy is especially sensitive to those who have shared in her struggles. She can transform even the skinniest of strands into a deceptively full updo for any very special event. In addition to modern men's cuts, she specializes in complete makeovers, whether it's adding fringe for a fashionista or going from waist length to pixie. |

Lalla Hacena Ismaeli

Assistant Lalla Hacena Ismaeli came to Washington from Morocco, where she holds degrees in both child psychology and chemistry. An accomplished linguist who speaks French, Arabic, and English, Lalla is an Arabic Language teacher in DC. Lalla is a valuable member of our team, and each and every client who sits in her shampoo chair leaves feeling relaxed and refreshed, thanks to her signature scalp massages. |

Shannon Cusello

A theatre buff through and through, Connecticut native Shannon Cusello has performed onstage and designed costumes, hair, and makeup for professional theatre companies throughout New England and the Washington region; she most recently served as the assistant costume designer for the American University theatre department. As salon manager, Shannon produces the quarterly one80 Newsletter, coordinates Special Events and Weddings, and curates the retail product selection.
