A growing list of American clientele lured him to the U.S., working in exclusive salons throughout the Washington DC area, until he decided to open One80 with Jeremy Buchanan in 2006. His exemplary work has been featured in Allure Magazine, which named him “Top Stylist in Washington”. He has also been featured in Washingtonian Magazine and The Washington Post. Rémi’s national recognition, combined with his reputation as an exemplary stylist, have resulted in styling requests from notable members of Washington Political Society and Hollywood celebrities, including Hillary Clinton and Natalie Portman.
Renee Benedict is a haircutting specialist with 12 years’ experience as a hairstylist. In her 7 years as a haircutting specialist, she has developed her own unique brand by mixing modern techniques with a strong foundation of haircutting fundamentals. Renee loves bringing long/thick hair to life and maximizing shape and density for those with fine hair. She also enjoys cutting bobs, mid-lengths, and giving shape to curly locks. Her extensive training background includes Oribe, R+Co, Pony, Kevin Murphy, and Kerastase. If you’re looking for modern and effortless, Renee your girl!
Markell Scrivner is a DMV native and has been a part of the One80 team since 2015. Markell has a reputation for his beautiful and long lasting blowouts! He works to create stylish finishes for every client who sits in his chair. Markell attended The Aveda Institute in DC and has been licensed since 2017. His sweet spots are medium and long haircuts, tailored to fit the lifestyle of each individual client. Markell also specializes in treating, cutting and styling natural hair textures. Markell is no stranger to fashion and when not in the salon can be found styling for photo shoots or attending runway shows to keep up on the latest trends. He continues his education throughout the year traveling for hands-on classes and hair shows between DC, New York City and Los Angeles.
Jordan Broussard is a talented haircutter and stylist, who comes to One80 with over a decade of experience behind the chair, specializing in precision haircuts and curly hair. He is a third-generation hairstylist, hailing from Louisiana. Jordan’s interest in the hair industry was inspired early in his childhood while working in his grandfather’s and mother’s salons. His career took off in Dallas, Texas, where he grew and maintained a loyal clientele, which included various celebrities and news personalities. Outside the salon, Jordan enjoys anime/manga, playing video games, running, and working out.
Lydia Violi began her career in the Midwest with Aveda, where she honed expert customer service skills. In 2013, she moved to Germany, where she spent two years perfecting her craft. Missing the U.S., Lydia decided to move back, this time to the nation’s capital. Lydia has studied under some of the industry’s greats including NAHA (North American Hairdressing Award) winners Allen Ruiz, Geno Chapman, and Daniel Holtzberger. Known for her mid length and long haircuts, she utilizes texturizing and dry cutting to achieve flawless looks.
After his apprenticeship with Matrix National Performing Artist Terry Back, Jeremy’s career has been fast moving. His early work involved starting a regional beauty academy under the sponsorship of Columbia Beauty Supply where he traveled the country teaching advanced education and color trends. Soon after landing in Washington at 25, he became the color director at one of DC’s premier salons. Since then, Jeremy has established himself as an elite colorist recognized by numerous publications as well as on television including, Allure, Marie Claire, Washingtonian, FOX, TLC, and Harper’s Bazaar in which he was featured as one of the “Country’s 10 Best Hair Colorists”. As co-owner of One80 Salon, Jeremy has helped establish the salon as one of DC’s top salons. At his core is the focus on making haircolor more brilliant, consistent, purposeful and dimensional. His extensive knowledge of hair color and color theory has led him to be one of the most sought-after colorists in the city.
Heather's journey in the beauty industry began as a receptionist in a hair salon nearly 20 years ago. She soon realized her passion for hair color and began studying at Graham Webb International Academy of Hair. Upon completion, Heather enrolled in a year-long apprenticeship under a french hair colorist. Heather considers hair to be a very subjective expression of one’s personality. She specializes in Balayage, rich brunettes and has an uncanny eye for creating a believable red. While Heather's signature looks can be described as vibrant, soft, and natural in appearance, she tailors color to suit a client’s eye color, skin tone and lifestyle. Heather's accomplishments include, Allure Magazine, Washingtonian and The Hill. With fourteen years of experience behind her, Heather is still passionate for the industry and can often be found in New York, Los Angeles and Miami on the weekends, participating in advanced education classes with some of the industry greats.
Claudia has been a D.C. favorite for years. While working at a premier salon in D.C., Allure Magazine took notice of Claudia’s work and named her a “Rising Star.” Five years later, Allure Magazine listed Claudia in their “Best of Beauty” issue. Washingtonian Magazine also took note and named Claudia in their “Great Hair” issue. Its Claudia’s attention to detail that sets her apart from other colorists. Claudia is recognized for consistently producing color with incredible dimension and creating natural looking highlights, which makes her highly sought after. As the industry develops, she is constantly continuing to take classes to advance her own knowledge and deliver the most professional experience to her clients.
Peter Perera was born in the mountains of Kandy, Sri Lanka. He moved to the Sri Lankan capital, Colombo, to begin learning and practicing his craft. From then on, Peter has been very involved in the industry, working across the globe from London to New Zealand to Bermuda to Miami. He has also done extensive work in fashion shows, magazine shoots, photo shoots, and personal styling. His passion for hair color shows in all of his work. While adept at all aspects of haircolor, Peter's notoriety, as a master colorist, came through his hair painting and dimensional balayage techniques. Peter is regularly completing training all over the world to learn the latest techniques in hair and cosmetics. He is passionate about his art and making people happy through his work. Peter works with his clients to create the best color for their specific hair and bodies. Besides his work, Peter enjoys traveling to other countries to do volunteer work. “I am excited to be part of the one80 team. I look forward to work with new clients and creating beautiful, personalized artwork with my expertise.”
Lesley Myers is a master colorist and brow artist, who began her career on the West Coast. As a military spouse, she developed her craft by working in top-rated salons across the nation. Lesley brings to One80 an in-depth knowledge of hair color chemistry, as well as a fresh and artistic vision, personalized to each client. Her artistic inspiration has roots in old and new Hollywood. Leslie’s eclectic taste in fashion and music gives her a fresh and modern perspective on the art of hair design. Lesley was educated at Gene Juarez Academy, and then furthered her training at the assisting program at the Intercoiffure- recognized Marco Two Union Square in Seattle, Washington. For the past 4 years, Lesley has been doing hair at a high-end, award-winning DC salon, where she worked with members of Congress, news correspondents, and White House staff.
Lucia Martins comes to One80 with 27 years of experience in the hair industry. She has spent the last 2 years under the apprenticeship of One80 co-owner, Jeremy Buchanan, from whom she not only gained valuable knowledge and training, but also much of her inspiration. Lucia began her career in cosmetology in her home country of Brazil. She owned her own salon in Brazil and worked as a color technician for Toni & Guy in Colorado. She loves connecting with clients and takes pride in the time and care she gives to each client’s haircare and styling needs. Outside the salon Lucia enjoys spending time in nature and with her family.
